Tennessee courts reverse ‘ludicrous’ ban

In an interesting first for the nation, Tennessee Office of Courts revised its official documents, replacing the terms ‘Mother’ and ‘Father’ into ‘Parent 1’ and ‘Parent 2’. But that same afternoon they reversed their decision and put the gender specific terms back on their documents.

Tennesseee Rep. Dan Howell, responded by saying

I was dumbfounded. I thought: ‘how could this happen in a state that has voted by more than 80 percent to define marriage as between one man and one woman’?
