Muslims Running the City of Hamtramck

On Tuesday the city of Hamtramck, MI elected the first ever majority Muslim city council in America. This isn’t the first time the city of Hamtramck has been the spark of controversy. Ten years ago the Hamtramck city council approved the broadcasting of an Islamic prayer from a mosque.

Ten years later in Hamtramck the Muslim population has grown steadily due to immigration. Now, fifty percent of the city is of Muslim descent. Being the majority, they elected Saad Almasmari and re-elect Abu Musa and Anam Miah. Their election means four out of the six city council members are Muslim.

Our concern is that most Muslim elected officials have placed their left hand on the Koran, rather than the Bible, to be sworn in. The Koran elevates Sharia Law above the US Constitution and the Word of God, which is a problem in America. This could mean that the City of Hamtramck, MI is not under the laws of the United States of America but under Sharia, which could be harmful to women especially.
